Job Description:
Project Summary and Position Overview: (A detailed description of the Project and what the Position entails must be included)
The content set maintains data for Deals and Private Equity. The systems encompassed are ingestion system, data collection UI system, Outbound feeds and Database.
The individual filling this position is responsible for the analysis, design, development and maintenance of production software systems for the financial services market. These products include a set of software programs and platforms based in Microsoft .NET technology that are used for the display and analysis of financial data.
The individual will be responsible for the following : (a) Development of UI and backend tier components for Internet facing applications and backend processing (b) Follow Thomson Financial development standards (c) Produce final development estimates and deliver to schedule (d) Ensure the quality of code produced meets TF and project standards
Entire SDLC and dev support process :
(1) Understand requirements
(2) Assess impact on code
(3) Provide detailed and accurate effort and time estimates
(4) Implement requirements
(5) Perform unit testing (developer testing)
(6) Deliver to QA/UAT and cordinate with QA/UAT to fix defects
(7) Prepare release notes
(8) Production and DR deployments
(9) Responding to data queries
(10) Responding to adhoc request for data population
General shift.
100% maintenance (includes developing new modules/screens, bug fixes, and enhancements)
Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:
• Software development - 5 years
• Microsoft technologies; .C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET - 4 years
• RDBMS programming (Oracle preferred) - 2 years
• IIS, Internet applications - 4 years
• Exposure to OOAD driven systems – 4 Years
• XML/XMLT, MS-XML – 2 years
